Uses
Cyklokapron (Tranexamic Acid) is an oral medication used to prevent excessive bleeding occurring during abnormally heavy periods, nose bleeds, eye bleeding as a result of injury, following a tooth extraction, or following the removal of the prostate gland. It works by preventing enzymes in the body from breaking down blood clots. It may also be given to patients to prevent bleeding caused by surgery.
Dosage and Administration
Always use Cyklokapron (Tranexamic Acid) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Patients are sometimes told to take it 2 to 4 times per day, however, because the exact dosage may be different for each individual, depending on the patient's circumstances, it is important that the instructions given by the prescribing doctor are followed. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor.
