Depilox-50

Uses
Depilox-50 (Amoxapine) is a tricyclic antidepressant medicine that is widely used in the treatment of depression, panic disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, agitation and other similar conditions. It has been suggested that it may have properties similar to those of an atypical antipsychotic if used in patients with schizophrenia. The active ingredient in this drug works by acting on certain chemicals in the brain which may have become unbalanced.

Dosage and Administration
Depilox-50 (Amoxapine) tablets need to be taken according to the dosage instructions provided by the prescribing doctor after a medical consultation. Adults who are undergoing treatment for depression are often told to begin treatment with an initial dose of 50mg, taken 2 to 3 times per day. If deemed necessary, the doctor may increase the dose to 100mg, 2 to 3 times daily before the first week of treatment has ended. Initial doses of 300mg are sometimes considered, but may result in sedation, and doses higher than this are only considered in limited circumstances. Maintenance doses may be prescribed at least two weeks after treatment has started, and sometimes consist of 200mg to 300mg, however, if no response has been achieved, a higher dose may be deemed necessary by the prescribing doctor.

Side effects
Patients taking Depilox-50 (Amoxapine) may sometimes experience side effects, such as:

• Drowsiness
• A dry mouth
• Restlessness
• Sweating more than usual
• Changes in weight or appetite

Tell your doctor if any side effects occur. In some cases, serious reactions are possible. You must seek medical care straight away if you notice muscle stiffness, uncontrolled shaking, fever or any other serious symptoms.

Precautions
There is a slight risk that this medicine may cause suicidal thoughts. Seek medical care straight away if this occurs.

You should not drink alcohol while taking this medication.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Depilox-50 (Amoxapine) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
