Uses
Diprosone Ointment (Betamethasone Dipropionate) is a high potency corticosteroid which is applied to the skin for its benefits in the relief of various symptoms of skin conditions, such as discomfort, swelling and redness. It is widely used in the treatment of eczema (a skin condition that causes scaling, swelling, itching and other symptoms) and psoriasis (a type of skin disorder which causes raised scales to appear on the skin). Doctors generally recommend using the ointment on affected areas of skin which are dry or scaly.
Dosage and Administration
Patients whose skin conditions have failed to respond to treatment with mild corticosteroids may be told by their doctor to use Diprosone Ointment (Betamethasone Dipropionate) as a treatment for their condition. Adults are usually told by their doctor to apply a thin film of the ointment so that it thoroughly covers the part of skin that needs to be treated. It may then be massaged in. Doctors generally advise patients to apply it twice per day, however, in some cases, maintenance therapy may be recommended and patients will be told to apply less of the ointment.
