Uses
Divaa (Divalproex Sodium) is used (sometimes alongside other seizure medicines) to treat patients affected by different types of seizures. In addition to this, it is widely prescribed as a mood stabiliser to treat patients affected by bipolar disorder (also called manic depression), and has been found to be useful at preventing migraine headaches. However, it is not used to provide relief from a migraine headache which has already started.
Dosage and Administration
Divaa (Divalproex Sodium) comes as 125mg delayed release tablets, which are swallowed whole. In all cases, your doctor will tell you the right amount of medicine to take, as well as any other instructions related to dosage, and it is essential that you do exactly as directed by your doctor. You will most likely be told by your doctor not to abruptly stop treatment, no matter how well you feel. This is because a severe and potentially fatal seizure may occur if treatment is suddenly stopped. Gradual reduction of the dosage may be needed when ceasing treatment.
