Uses
Enidazol 1000 (Tinidazole) is a nitroimidazole medication, which is effective against bacteria and protozoa. Certain parasitic infections, such as amoebiasis and giardiasis may also be treated with this medicine. Doctors commonly prescribe this drug for treating vaginal infections, such as trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginosis. It is also effective against many different bacterial infections in the body.
Dosage and Administration
Enidazol 1000 (Tinidazole) comes as tablets, and each tablet contains 1g of the active ingredient. This medicine should be taken with food. When diagnosing your condition, the prescribing doctor may need to take a tissue sample to determine whether or not the micro-organisms are able to be destroyed by this medicine. Trichomoniasis and giardiasis are usually treated with 2g, taken once. Patients treating intestinal amoebiasis may be directed to take 2g per day, for a period of 3 days, whereas amebic liver abscesses may require the same dosage, but taken for 3 to 5 days. Other conditions may require different doses, and every patient should only take the amount prescribed by their doctor.
