Uses
Eukroma-Lite (Hydroquinone) is a skin lightening cream used for its benefits in reversing the effects of hyperpigmentation. It has become popular as a treatment for age spots, liver spots and melasma. Exposure to the skin can cause liver spots (dark skin), which contributes to the effects of aging.
In other cases, conditions such as chloasma, which cause darkening of the skin on the face, occur as a result of pregnancy or taking contraceptive pills. This anti-hyperpigmentation agent acts on the melanocyte cells (cells which produce the pigment called melanin). This lightens the skin colour and can even the skin tone, making it an effective treatment for unevenly coloured skin.
Dosage and Administration
Eukroma-Lite (Hydroquinone) must be applied topically. Instructions related to proper use will be provided to you by your doctor before treatment starts. Adults treating senile lentigines, melasma, chloasma or other problems may be instructed to apply the cream to the area affected by melanin hyperpigmentation twice per day. Treatment will need to continue for as long as your doctor tells you.
Side effects
Eukroma-Lite (Hydroquinone) can cause mild irritation or other topical reactions at the application site. Most patients do not experience serious side effects. However, if you notice severe stinging, burning or pain after application, cease use of this cream and seek medical care straight away.
