Uses
Hostacycline (Tetracycline) is well known for treatment of different bacterial infections. It is also applied for treatment of acne and to prevent "traveler`s diarrhea", nongonococcal urethritis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, chancroid, typhus, cholera, anthrax, brucellosis, and syphilis. However, it is not used for viral infections like flu and common colds.
Hostacycline (Tetracycline) works by stopping the spread and growth of bacteria, which makes it effective at treating acne caused by bacteria.
Dosage and Administration
Before you begin treatment with Hostacycline (Tetracycline) capsules, it is necessary to visit your doctor for a medical consultation. The exact amount prescribed depends on the condition you are treating. In the majority of cases, patients are told to take it 2 to 4 times per day, on an empty stomach. This means that you can take your dose 1 hour prior to a meal or 2 hours after eating. Doctors advise against taking this medicine with food, especially foods which contain dairy products, as this may prevent the absorption of the medicine. Remember that you need to continue taking it until you have finished your prescription.

Hostacycline (Tetracycline) can cause permanent staining of the teeth if used by children under 8 years of age. For this reason, doctors will not normally prescribe it for use in young children.
