Uses
Cynomycin 50 (Minocycline) is an antibiotic which is used as an acne treatment. It has also been prescribed to patients affected by various other bacterial infections, including chlamydia, urinary tract infections and respiratory infections. Acne can occur as a result of a type of bacteria, which can cause the production of fatty acids, causing sebaceous gland irritation. This may lead to spots. Treatment with this antibiotic medication stops the bacterial growth, allowing the immune system to destroy any remaining bacteria, and leading to an improvement in acne, while also giving the skin the opportunity to heal.

Dosage and Administration
Cynomycin 50 (Minocycline) comes as 50mg capsules. Adults who are affected by acne and have been told by their doctor to take this medicine as a treatment for their condition are sometimes directed to take a dosage ranging from 50mg to 100mg, taken twice per day. The doctor will decide the exact amount. In most cases, treatment lasts for 3 to 6 weeks, or until the symptoms improve. Never take more than the amount prescribed by your doctor.

Side effects
Taking Cynomycin 50 (Minocycline) might cause:

• Dizziness
• Black coloured tongue
• Discoloured skin or nails
• A discharge from the vagina
• Soreness affecting the muscles

You should tell your doctor about any side effects that occur. Side effects which are more serious may occur. You must immediately seek medical treatment if you experience skin peeling, visual problems, fever or any other serious reactions.

Precautions
This medicine should not be used for viral infections, as it is only effective against infections caused by bacteria.

While you are taking this drug, do not expose your skin to the sun or tanning beds, as this medicine increases the skin's sensitivity to sunlight.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
