Uses
Mobicam-DT (Piroxicam IP) is a type of non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (usually abbreviated to NSAID) which works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase. It is widely used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, so as to help control the pain and inflammation that can occur in those affected by this condition. However, it will not stop the progression of this disease. This medicine functions as a non-selective inhibitor of COX, and inhibits the action of prostaglandins.
As a result of this, the prostaglandins are not able to cause inflammation and swelling, which may make it easier for patients to continue their usual activities. Other conditions for which this medicine's antipyretic and analgesic properties may be useful include osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, dysmenorrhoea, pain occurring after surgery, acute gout and other disorders which have not been listed here.
Dosage and Administration
Mobicam-DT (Piroxicam IP) is provided as 20mg dispersible tablets. Your doctor will examine you and determine the appropriate dosage based on your symptoms and medical history. Patients undergoing treatment for osteoarthritis are usually instructed to administer 20mg once per day, however, as an alternative to this, it is possible that the doctor may direct the patient to take 10mg twice per day. The maximum dosage per day that doctor prescribe is 20mg. In all cases patients must strictly adhere to the directions that their doctor gives them.
