Uses
Neurontin (Gabapentin) capsules are used as a treatment for epilepsy. Certain types of seizures may be kept under control by taking this medication. This drug is a type of anticonvulsant, which works by decreasing and preventing abnormal brain activity. Another use for this drug is providing relief from the pain caused by postherpetic neuralgia. This condition causes severe pain, and may occur in patients who have suffered from shingles in the past.

Dosage and Administration
Take Neurontin (Gabapentin) capsules as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water. This medication may be taken with food or without food. In order to determine the correct dosage, it is necessary to consult your doctor. The required dosage varies greatly for each patient, however, it is possible that some patients will be told to take it 3 times per day. Nevertheless, you must follow your doctor`s instructions.

Side effects
Neurontin (Gabapentin) can cause side effects, such as:

• Blurred vision
