Uses
Nodict (Naltrexone) is used to treat addiction to alcohol or narcotic drugs. Doctors generally prescribe it for use alongside counselling for drug addiction. When used to treat addiction to drugs, it works on the brain to prevent the effects and feelings of well being caused by taking narcotic substances such as opiates. It also helps to reduce the patient's desire to take drugs. In addition to this, it is effective at helping patients being treated for alcohol addiction to drink less or to quit drinking.
Dosage and Administration
Nodict (Naltrexone) tablets need to be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. After a medical consultation, your doctor will tell you the correct amount of medication to take. Because this drug is used as part of a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation programme, your doctor will monitor you, and may even need to conduct drug tests. It is necessary to cease opiate use for at least 7 days prior to taking this drug. Most patients will be instructed to take this drug once daily, however, in some cases, certain patients may be told to take a higher dose once every 2 to 3 days. Follow your doctor's instructions.
