Uses
Noriday (Norethisterone) is a contraceptive pill which is considered to be effective at preventing pregnancy. This type of hormonal contraceptive is often referred to as a POP (progestogen-only pill) or a mini pill due to the fact that it does not contain oestrogen. It is often prescribed as an alternative to women who are unable to take oestrogen.
These tablets work in three different ways to prevent pregnancy. They thicken the mucus in the cervix, making it difficult for a sperm to enter. They also affect the womb lining, preventing any fertilised eggs from being implanted on the womb, and they can prevent an egg from being released, but only in some women. Other uses for these tablets include treating symptoms of endometriosis such as loss of blood and pain, and helping to regularise periods in certain women.
Dosage and Administration
You must see your doctor before taking Noriday (Norethisterone) tablets, to determine whether or not they are suitable for you. You will also be told how often to take each tablet. In most cases, patients are told to take the tablets continuously, without a tablet-free break, even during a period. It is necessary for these tablets to be taken on time in order for them to be effective. You should note that if you miss your dose by more than 3 hours, you will not be protected against becoming pregnant, and a barrier method of contraception must be used for the next 48 hours.

Using Noriday (Norethisterone) tablets as a contraceptive may result in some side effects, including:
If you notice any serious side effects, you should stop taking these tablets and see your doctor immediately. Examples include severe pain in the pelvis, inflammation of the limbs, severe chest pain or any other examples of a serious reaction.
