Uses
Visanne (Dienogest) is used to treat women suffering from endometriosis, a condition that causes pelvic pain due to womb tissue growing outside of the womb. It works by relieving pain and treating endometriotic lesions. The active ingredient in this medicine is known as a progestin hormone, and it is said to have antiandrogenic properties. When used for endometriosis, it can moderately inhibit the release of gonadotropin, which in turn helps to decrease the levels of some hormones.

This helps to gradually get rid of the endometriotic lesions. In addition to this, it is also able to directly block the spread of endometriotic tissue. Continuous treatment may help provide relief from the pain associated with this condition, and doctors generally tell their patients to use it on a long term basis so as to effectively control the symptoms of endometriosis.

Dosage and Administration
Visanne (Dienogest) tablets each contain 2mg of the active ingredient. It is essential that you follow all directions provided by your doctor during treatment. Adult women are normally instructed by their doctor to administer one tablet per day. Generally speaking, it is taken at exactly the same time every day alongside a glass of water. Patients may take it without regard to meals. In addition to this, doctors normally advise patients to begin treatment on any day during the menstrual cycle.

Side effects
Women using Visanne (Dienogest) might notice side effects during treatment, such as:
