Uses
Zitromax (Azithromycin Dihydrate) is a macrolide antibiotic which is used to fight bacteria in the body. A wide range of bacterial infections may be treated with this medicine, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, STDs (sexually transmitted infections), Lyme disease, typhoid, skin or soft tissue infections, and any other infections as deemed necessary by your doctor. However, it is very important to note that antibiotics will not work for any infection which has not been caused by bacteria (such as viral infections).
Dosage and Administration
Zitromax (Azithromycin Dihydrate) comes in the form of tablets, and each tablet contains 500mg of the active ingredient. The exact dosage and length of time for which treatment will be necessary depends on the seriousness of the infection, the patient's medical history, as well as other factors. You will need to visit your doctor to determine the correct dosage. Remember to finish the entire amount of medication prescribed by your doctor (unless your doctor specifically tells you to stop taking the medication).
