Uses
Adaclene Gel (Adapalene) is a topical acne treatment which works well for mild to moderate symptoms. Its mechanism of action is improving the skin's natural renewal process and decreasing the amount of comedones and spots formed. The active ingredient in this greaseless gel is known as a retinoid, and is said to be similar to vitamin A. Acne vulgaris causes pustules, papules and nodules to appear on the face, or possibly on the back and chest. Symptoms generally occur due to the sebaceous glands becoming clogged with sebum (oils that occur naturally on the skin).
Inflammation is also caused by this. Upon application, this gel helps to normalise (or possibly increase) the process in which the skin is shed (desquamation). This in turn helps to unblock the sebaceous glands, thereby reducing the formation of comedones while also reducing the volume of spots and blackheads on the skin. Inflammation on the skin is also reduced. In some cases, patients have used this gel to treat keratosis pilaris and other related dermatological disorders.
Dosage and Administration
Adaclene Gel (Adapalene) is for topical use. Consult your doctor or dermatologist for advice regarding proper use and frequency of application. Patients treating acne might be told to apply the gel to the skin suffering from acne once per day, generally before going to bed. Rub a thin layer of gel onto the affected area and ensure that you do not get any in the eyes, nose and mucous membranes. It is possible that you will be advised to wash the face and gently dry it before use of the gel.
