Uses
Celapram (Citalopram Hydrobromide) is an SSRI antidepressant. By acting in the central nervous system and stopping the reuptake of serotonin, it can help to treat depression and panic disorder. In certain cases, doctors have treat patients affected by anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and other conditions. It has also been studied for migraine prevention and diabetic neuropathy. SSRI stands for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
Its antidepressant action is widely believed to be the result of enhancing serotonin activity, which is a neurotransmitter that is linked to having a positive effect on the emotions and mood. This potentiation of serotonergic activity is achieved as a direct result of preventing the reuptake of serotonin into its presynaptic cell, resulting in an increased availability of serotonin, and allowing it to attach to the postsynaptic receptor. Symptoms of depression can thereby be relieved. In recent years, it has become the focus of much attention due to research which suggested that it may benefit the treatment of premature ejaculation.
Dosage and Administration
Celapram (Citalopram Hydrobromide) is provided in tablet form, and the medicine content of each one is 20mg. A consultation with your doctor will need to take place before the correct dosage and suitability can be determined. Adults diagnosed with depression are sometimes told by their doctor to start out with 20mg (one tablet) per day. The doctor may then decide to increase the dosage to 40mg per day after a certain period of time, however, it is also possible that some patients may be told to stay taking 20mg per day. Follow the directions provided by your doctor.
Side effects
