S Citadep

Uses
S Citadep (Escitalopram Oxalate) is an antidepressant. Besides being used to treat depression, this drug is often prescribed to patients suffering from other related mental conditions, such as anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). This drug is a type of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases the amount of a natural substance (serotonin) in the brain, which in turn helps to maintain normal mental stability. Some patients who take this drug may experience delayed ejaculation. However, doctors usually do not prescribe it to treat premature ejaculation.

Dosage and Administration
S Citadep (Escitalopram Oxalate) tablets must be taken exactly as your doctor tells you. When prescribing this drug for you, clear and concise dosing instructions will be provided to you by your doctor. It is common for patients to be told to take this drug once per day. Remember that 1 to 4 weeks of treatment may be required before the full positive benefits of this drug are noticed. Patients are reminded not to abruptly discontinue taking this drug, as doing so may cause withdrawal symptoms. Instead, the advice of a doctor must be sought when stopping treatment. A gradual reduction of the daily dosage may be recommended.

Side effects
It is important to take note of some of the possible side effects which may occur when taking S Citadep (Escitalopram Oxalate) tablets, such as:

• Dizzy sensation
• An increase in appetite
• Perspiring more than usual
• A delay in ejaculation in male patients
• Sneezing, a runny nose or other related symptoms

Although it is rare, other more serious side effects may occur. If you experience hallucinations, extreme changes in mood, muscle stiffness or any other reactions not listed here, you should consult your doctor immediately.

Precautions
In rare cases, a prolonged or painful erection which lasts for more than 4 hours may occur. See your doctor if this happens.

Although antidepressants can help to prevent some patients from depression or suicidal thoughts, a small number of patients (especially younger people) may notice that their depression worsens, and may even experience suicidal thoughts. If this occurs, tell your doctor straight away.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use S Citadep (Escitalopram Oxalate) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• If you suffer from any allergies.
• If you suffer from any other health conditions or illnesses.
• If you are using any other medicine (including all non-prescription).
• If you are using any supplements, vitamins, or herbal products of any kind.
