Uses
Cilacar 5 (Cilnidipine) belongs to the calcium channel blocker group of medicines and is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure. This drug is different to other similar medicines in that it is able to work on the N-type calcium channel as well as the L-type calcium channel. Other calcium antagonists only affect the L-type calcium channel. Treatment helps to lower blood pressure, which may be achieved by blocking nerve activity relating to the sympathetic nervous system and suppressing the renin-angiotensin system. Some studies have suggested that it may also improve metabolic syndrome.
