Uses
Cilacar 10 (Cilnidipine) is used as a hypertension treatment. It works by dilating the blood vessels, which in turn leads to an overall reduction in blood pressure. This medicine has been referred to as a fourth generation calcium channel blocker, and is said to differ from other antihypertensive agents due to its mechanism of action. When taken, it blocks the N-type calcium channel, and also acts on the L-type calcium channel. This effectively deprives the muscle cells in the arteries of calcium, which prevents them from contracting.

Instead, they are allowed to widen, which triggers an improvement in blood flow and a decrease in high blood pressure. Studies have also shown that it can effectively block the L-type Ca2+ channels at concentrations which will not inhibit protein kinase C. Dosage and Administration
Cilacar 10 (Cilnidipine) tablets each contain 10mg of the active ingredient.
