Uses
Condyline Topical Solution (Podophyllotoxin) is used as a treatment for genital warts. The active ingredient in this topical medicine comes from the podophyllum plant and belongs to a class of drugs referred to as antimitotics. It works by preventing the growth of certain cells, which eventually causes the warts to disappear. This also allows the skin to heal. Another use for this solution is treating an infection of the skin referred to as molluscum contagiousum.
Dosage and Administration
Condyline Topical Solution (Podophyllotoxin) must be applied exactly as directed by your doctor. This medicated solution is only meant for use on genital warts on the skin which your doctor has told you to treat, and should not be applied to warts surrounding the anus or the mucous membranes (such as inside the vagina or rectum). Most patients applying this medicine are told to apply it twice per day, in the morning and evening. Allow a 12 hour interval in between applications. You will most likely be told by your doctor to apply it for 3 consecutive days, after which a 4 day break from treatment will be observed. If the warts have not disappeared, this 7 day routine may need to be repeated for as much as 4 weeks, or as directed by your doctor.
