Uses
Acivir 200 (Acyclovir) is a type of antiviral medicine, which is effective at treating symptoms caused by certain viral infections. It is prescribed to treat shingles (herpes zoster), cold sores (occurring as a result of herpes simplex), chickenpox, genital herpes and other related conditions. In some cases, doctors may direct patients infected with genital herpes to take it, to prevent the formation of sores. The primary ingredient in this medication belongs to a class of drugs referred to as synthetic nucleoside analogues, and it works by preventing the virus from spreading, and can also help sores to heal. However, it is worth noting that it will not cure the infections.
