Uses
Dicaris 150 (Levamisole) belongs to a class of medicines called antineoplastics and is widely used in the treatment of cancer, such as colon cancer, melanoma and cancer that affects the head or neck. It also has anthelminthic benefits and some people have used it to treat parasitic worm infections. Other conditions for which it being studied include nephrotic syndrome, lichen planus and aphthous ulcers.

Dosage and Administration
Dicaris 150 (Levamisole) comes as a single 150mg tablet. Adults who are treating a roundworm infection are sometimes directed by their doctor to take one tablet (150mg) to treat their condition. A different dosage may be needed for a roundworm and hookworm mixed infections, and in some cases, severe infections may need another dose. The dosage for other conditions is not the same as for a worm infection, and in all cases patients must only take the amount of medicine that their doctor tells them to take.

Side effects
Patients who take Dicaris 150 (Levamisole) may experience side effects, such as:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Itchiness
• Loose stools
• Sores occurring on the mouth

Any side effects which occur during treatment should be reported to your doctor. Serious side effects are also possible as a result of taking this medicine. You will need medical attention immediately if you notice signs of blood problems, severe fatigue, seizures or any other symptoms of a severe reaction.

Precautions
Taking this medicine can lower the immune system, which could increase the risk of infections. You should not have any vaccinations during treatment unless your doctor tells you that it is safe to do so.

Blood tests may be required by your doctor to monitor your condition.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Dicaris 150 (Levamisole) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
