Uses
Doxacard (Doxazosin) can be used to treat different conditions. It is commonly used to treat urination problems such as pain when urinating, frequent urination and incomplete emptying of the bladder, when these symptoms are caused by an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). When used to treat BPH, it works by relaxing the bladder and prostate muscles, thereby making it easier to urinate. Another use for this drug is treating hypertension (high blood pressure).
Dosage and Administration
Doxacard (Doxazosin) tablets are taken by mouth, together with a full glass of water. It is necessary to see your doctor prior to starting treatment, so that the proper dosage can be determined. Your doctor will decide on the correct dosage based on your medical condition. Patients must take the prescribed dosage at the same time each day, and must also never exceed the recommended dosage. An improvement in symptoms is normally noticed after 2 weeks of treatment, however, if your condition does not improve or if it worsens, you should consult your doctor.
