Uses
Locoid Lipocream (Hydrocortisone Butyrate) contains an active component which is a corticosteroid. It is considered to be medium in strength. Patients who are suffering from skin conditions that are responsive to treatment with corticosteroids, such as eczema, psoriasis and skin diseases that cause itchiness may be told to use this topical cream to relieve symptoms. Once applied, it starts to work rapidly to reduce itching, inflammation and other symptoms present in these skin conditions.
Dosage and Administration
Locoid Lipocream (Hydrocortisone Butyrate) is only meant for topical use. This product comes as a cream, and doctors generally recommend use by patients whose skin is dry and who are affected by skin lesions which are chronic or subacute. Generally, patients are instructed to apply it to the area of skin in need of treatment, 1 to 4 times per day. An occlusive dressing should only be used if instructed to do so by a doctor.
