Lutinus

Uses
Lutinus (Progesterone) is progestrone vaginal tablet containing 100mg progesterone. In cases of assisted reproduction, luteal support is sometimes insufficient. Lutinus will be prescribed to increase luteal support in these cases.

Dosage and Administration
Lutinus (Progesterone) will be inserted into the vagina. This will usually need to be done three times per day, starting are the occyte retrieval stage. Lutinus is generally taken for thirty days after confirmation of pregnancy.

Side effects
Side effects can occur when taking Lutinus (Progesterone). The most common side effects of vaginal progesterone are:

• headaches
• abdominal pain and/or distention
• nausea
• uterine spasm

Less common side effects you may experince when taking vaginal progesterone tablets include:

• dizziness
• insomnia
• diarrhea
• constipation
• urticaria
• rash
• vulvovaginal disorders
• vaginal mycosis
• breast disorders
• genital pruritus
• peripheral odema

Precautions
Your doctor will be able to advise if you will benefit from taking Lutinus (Progesterone). There are several situations where Lutinus should not be taken. These include:

• if you have had a know missed abortion or eptopic pregnancy
• if you have had undiagnosed vaginal bleeding
• if know have known or suspected breast cancer or genital tract cancer
• if you have past or current venous thromboembolism or severe thrombophlebitis
• if you suffer from sever hepatic disease or dysfunction
• if you are hypersensitive to progesterone, or any of the tablet excipients (Silica, hydrophobic colloidal, Lactose monohydrate, Pregelatiniszed maize starch, Povidone K29/32, Adipic acid, Sodium hydrogen carbonate, Sodium laurilsulfate, Magnesium stearate)
• if you have or have had porphyria
