Uses
Pletoz (Cilostazol) is prescribed to treat leg pain in patients affected by intermittent claudication. This condition causes pain affecting the legs which becomes worse as the patient walks or exercises. These symptoms occur as a result of insufficient oxygen levels reaching the muscles. Treatment with this antiplatelet medicine helps to provide relief from these leg cramps by widening the blood vessels and improving the flow of blood to the legs.
Dosage and Administration
Pletoz (Cilostazol) comes as 50mg tablets, which must be taken as directed by the prescribing doctor. The dosage instructions provided by the doctor prescribing the medicine must be strictly followed. Adults undergoing treatment for intermittent claudication are sometimes told to take 100mg by mouth, twice per day. The medicine is usually taken 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner (or else 2 hours after these meals). It can take as long as 12 weeks of taking the medicine before symptoms begin to improve. If no improvement occurs after 4 weeks, consult your doctor.
