Uses
Symbal (Duloxetine) is primarily given to patients affected by generalized anxiety disorder and depression, and it treats symptoms of these conditions by raising the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain. These natural substances are important for helping the patient to maintain mental stability. Another benefit of these substances is that they can prevent pain signals in the brain from moving. This makes it a useful treatment for pain caused by fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy.

Dosage and Administration
When prescribing Symbal (Duloxetine) tablets to you, your doctor will inform you how often each dose is required. These dosage instructions must be strictly adhered to. Most patients treating depression will be directed to take it 1 to 2 times per day. Doctors usually tell patients who are taking this drug for fibromyalgia pain or diabetic neuropathy to take it once per day. Remember that 1 to 4 weeks of treatment may be required in order for the medicine to fully take effect. A gradually decrease of your dosage may be necessary when discontinuing treatment. This is to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Side effects
Not all patients who take Symbal (Duloxetine) will experience side effects. However, it is still possible, and some types of adverse reactions may be more common than others. Possible adverse effects are listed here:

• Impotence
• Sore muscles
• Involuntary bodily shaking
• Feeling weak, drowsy or tired
• Urination problems such as increased or decreased urination

Serious side effects can occur. This is rare, however, should it happen, immediate medical care is required. Possible serious reactions include dark discoloured urine, fever or flu symptoms, peeling of the skin, bruising or bleeding and stiff muscles. In addition to the symptoms listed here, other reactions may also occur.

Precautions
Antidepressant drugs such as this one may help to treat and relieve depression and other related symptoms. However, a small amount of patients who take this drug may experience a worsening of their depression symptoms, which could even include suicidal thoughts. Patients are reminded to see a doctor straight away if they experience suicidal thoughts.

This drug can affect the blood sugar levels of diabetic patients. Regular checking of blood sugar levels is required while taking this drug. Your doctor may need to adjust your diabetes medication before you can start taking this drug.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Symbal (Duloxetine) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
