It has also proven to be useful in the treatment of high blood pressure, and as a result of this, is frequently prescribed by doctors to treat this condition.
Dosage and Administration
Terapress (Terazosin) tablets are administered orally. The dosage instructions given by your doctor must be strictly followed. Adults undergoing treatment for high blood pressure are often told to start out with an initial dose of 1mg, taken once per day just before going to bed. Adjustment of the dosage may occur at the discretion of the doctor, and a maintenance dosage ranging from 1mg to 5mg per day may be prescribed. The maximum daily dose prescribed by doctors is 20mg per day.
Men being treated for benign prostatic hyperplasia are usually told by their doctor to take 1mg once a day. The dose should be taken at bedtime. If necessary, the doctor may decide to increase the dosage to 2mg, 5mg or else 10mg taken once per day in order to achieve the desired effects.
