Uses
Terramycin Skin Ointment (Polymyxin B Sulfate/Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride) is an antibiotic treatment used for dermatological infections or to prevent insect bites, cuts, scratches and other injuries from becoming infected. Polymyxin B sulphate exhibits rapid bactericidal activity, and is effective against gram-negative microorganisms, including pseudomonas aeruginosa. Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic that acts against many different bacteria. This combination of ingredients works by damaging bacterial cell walls and disrupting the process in which essential bacterial proteins are produced, thereby destroying the bacteria.

Dosage and Administration
Terramycin Skin Ointment (Polymyxin B Sulfate/Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride) is applied topically, as directed by the doctor. The affected area of skin should be cleaned before application. Generally, doctors advise applying the ointment to the skin 2 to 3 times per day. In all cases, the duration of treatment will vary, based on the severity of the infection. Less serious infections will require a shorter period of treatment, and symptoms which are more serious will need to be treated for longer. Ensure that you continue treatment for the entire duration recommended by your doctor.

Side effects
