Uses
Catalin (Pirenoxine) is a cataract treatment which works in the lens of the eye by preventing protein crystals from becoming insoluble. This helps to protect against the development and progress of cataracts and can help reduce lens turbidity (cloudiness caused by calcium or selenite ions), making it an effective choice as a preventative measure against the formation of cataracts, especially in patients who show signs of risk factors for cataracts (such as age, gender and inflammation of the eye).

Dosage and Administration
Catalin (Pirenoxine) must be used exactly as your doctor advises. Adult patients may be instructed by their doctor to administer 1 to 2 eye drops per dose, and this should be repeated 3 to 5 times per day. The individual circumstances for your condition will be assessed, and your doctor will tell you the exact amount of times to use it. Before use, place the soluble tablet into the solvent provided and shake it thoroughly so that it fully dissolves. It is then possible to apply the drops directly to the eyes using the dropper provided. Do not use it more than your doctor directs you to.

Side effects
Use of Catalin (Pirenoxine) may lead to side effects, which can include:
