Uses
Dapa-Tabs (Indapamide Hemihydrate) is a medicine used to lower high blood pressure in cases where there is no known cause for it. In addition to this, it is widely used to treat excess salt and fluid build up in patients affected by congestive heart failure. This drug is a type of water tablet (doctors call it a diuretic), and it helps to stop the absorption of excess amounts of salt and water by the body. It achieves this by causing an increase in the amount of salt and water that are drawn out from the blood and into the urine. As a result of this, fluid retention is reduced, and high blood pressure decreased.
Dosage and Administration
Precise and accurate dosage instructions will be given to you by your doctor before you start taking Dapa-Tabs (Indapamide Hemihydrate). However, a medical consultation will be required, in order to determine the dosage. The most common dose for adult patients treating hypertension is 1.25mg per day. This dosage may be adjusted if deemed necessary by the prescribing doctor. Oedema (fluid retention) is often treated with an initial dose of 2.5mg per day, which may be altered if your doctor sees fit. Remember that you should not take this medicine within 4 hours of bedtime, otherwise, you may wake up during the night to urinate.
