Uses
Divret (Indapamide) is used as a treatment for high blood pressure and fluid retention. It is in a class of medicines called diuretics, meaning that it works by increasing urine production. By causing the kidneys to take more salt and water from the urine, the medicine helps to lower the volume of fluid in the blood vessels, thereby causing a decrease in high blood pressure. Another effect is that it widens the blood vessels, which can also contribute to a reduction in blood pressure. Some patients affected by congestive heart failure have also been treated with this medicine.
Dosage and Administration
Divret (Indapamide) is provided as 1.5mg sustained release tablets which are meant to be taken by mouth. Your doctor will need to conduct a thorough medical assessment before starting treatment. This is needed in order to decide the optimum dosage. Other factors will also be considered when determining the right amount of medicine to take, such as the severity of the condition that is being treated. Some patients may be told by their doctor to take it once per day, however the exact amount needed can differ for everybody so it is very important that you only take the amount your doctor deems necessary.
