Uses
Differin Gel (Adapalene) is indicated for the treatment of acne, especially when the symptoms are severe. The active compound in this gel is known as a third generation retinoid, and it is used for its anti-inflammatory benefits, as well as its ability to exfoliate the skin. Acne vulgaris occurs as a result of the sebaceous glands becoming blocked, which results in inflammation of these glands and acne.
This gentle formulation acts under the skin and lowers the growth of keratin surface cells (which can cause blockage of the pores). As a result of this, the pores become unblocked, which prevents the formation of blackheads and pimples, while also clearing up existing pimples. Recently, this medicine has attracted a great deal of attention due to its reported benefits as a potential treatment for keratosis pilaris.
Dosage and Administration
Differin Gel (Adapalene) comes in a 0.1% strength formula. If you wish to treat your acne effectively, visit your doctor. After examining your condition, the doctor will tell you which treatment method is most effective, and if this product is recommended, you will be given precise administration instructions. Before application, you should wash the face (or any other area of skin affected by acne) using a non-medicated soap. After drying the skin, the gel may then be applied. Adults are usually told to apply it once per day (in the evening). Your doctor will tell you how long to continue treatment for.
