Uses
Differin Gel (Adapalene) is indicated for the treatment of acne, especially when the symptoms are severe. The active compound in this gel is known as a third generation retinoid, and it is used for its anti-inflammatory benefits, as well as its ability to exfoliate the skin. Acne vulgaris occurs as a result of the sebaceous glands becoming blocked, which results in inflammation of these glands and acne.

This gentle formulation acts under the skin and lowers the growth of keratin surface cells (which can cause blockage of the pores). As a result of this, the pores become unblocked, which prevents the formation of blackheads and pimples, while also clearing up existing pimples. Dosage and Administration

Side effects
Treatment of acne with Differin Gel (Adapalene) might cause:

• Itchiness
• Stinging sensation
• Peeling of the skin
• Scaling on the skin
• Dryer than normal skin

Some patients treated with this gel may experience serious side effects. Seek immediate medical attention if this occurs.

Precautions
Do not allow this gel to come into contact with the eyes, nose, mucous membranes or any other areas of the body that are sensitive.

Ask your doctor about the use of abrasive soaps, medicated skin cleansers and cosmetic products, as this may cause irritation when used with this gel.
