Uses
Skinoren (Azelaic Acid) is a topical acne treatment. It reduces the amount of blackheads and spots that can form on the skin by decreasing the growth of certain skin cells (keratin cells) which block the pores. In addition to this, it also kills the bacteria responsible for causing acne. This bacteria, called propionebacterium acnes causes irritation to the skin's glands, which results in inflammation and spots. Inhibiting this bacteria's ability to grow reduces inflammation, and gives the skin a chance to heal, thereby bringing the acne under control.
