Uses
Fluvoxin (Fluvoxamine) is a medicine which is prescribed as a treatment for OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) symptoms. It is also used to treat social anxiety disorder, depression and post traumatic stress disorder. This medication may help to reduce the need to perform compulsive actions, such as repeated hand washing and counting, while also decreasing unwanted or unpleasant thoughts. The main ingredient in this drug is a type of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), which works by increasing the quantity of serotonin in the brain.
Dosage and Administration
Fluvoxin (Fluvoxamine) tablets are administered orally. You need to see your doctor before you begin taking this medication, in order to determine the correct dosage. In some cases, adult patients taking this medication have been told to take it once per day, just before bed, or else twice per day, with one dose taking in the morning and another dose taken in the evening.
