Uses
Fluvoxin (Fluvoxamine) is mainly used to treat patients affected by MDD (major depressive disorder, more commonly known as depression) and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Some doctors have suggested that it may work for OCD by inhibiting serotonin reuptake in the brain. This in turn could help to restore the natural balance of neurotransmitters, thereby providing relief from symptoms such as compulsions (deliberate and often repetitive behaviour that interferes with social functioning), as well as other impulses or obsessive thoughts. Some patients have also taken it for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dosage and Administration
Fluvoxin (Fluvoxamine) is provided as 50mg tablets for administration via the oral route. A considerable number of factors will need to be considered by the doctor in charge of treatment. It is common for patients to be told to take one 50mg tablet per day, administered at bedtime. For maintenance treatment, the dosage usually ranges from 100mg to 300mg per day (300mg is the maximum). Generally, doctors increase it at increments of 50mg, every 4 to 7 days, however dosages in excess of 100mg are given as two separated doses. The dosage will only be adjusted if the doctor deems it necessary, and patients should never change their dosage unless following the doctor's instructions.

Always use Fluvoxin (Fluvoxamine) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.
