Uses
Lyrica (Pregabalin) is a type of anticonvulsant to help treat patients suffering from epilepsy and seizures. It works by slowing down and preventing the excessive electrical activity in the brain that causes seizures, thereby helping to prevent epileptic fits. This drug can also be used to treat the chronic pain associated with fibromyalgia and certain other conditions.

Dosage and administration
Lyrica (Pregabalin) tablets are taken orally, either on an empty stomach or alongside a meal or snack. Patients should consult their doctor to determine the correct dosage for their particular condition, as the dosage may vary considerably depending on the condition being treated and the patient's kidney function. Never exceed the dosage prescribed to you by your doctor. Once it has been prescribed, patients should not stop taking this medication without first consulting their doctor, as certain conditions may worsen if patients stop taking this medication too early or too quickly.

Side effects
Some of the side effects you may experience while taking Lyrica (Pregabalin) include:

• Dry mouth
• Breast swelling
• Swelling in the limbs
• Loss of balance
• Difficulty concentrating

Although it is rare, some patients have experienced more serious side effects as a result of taking this medication. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any vision problems, unusual bleeding, unusual bruising, muscle pain, or fever.

Precautions
Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.
