Uses
M-Mometasone cream (Mometasone Furoate) is a type of glucocorticosteroid. It is used to treat itchy, painful or inflamed skin caused by irritation or allergies. These symptoms generally occur as a result of the immune system releasing certain substances which cause a widening of the blood vessels.
This cream has vasoconstrictive properties, and thereby helps to reduce swelling, as well as itching and redness. Patients with psoriasis or dermatitis who have used other corticosteroids without successful results may be told by their doctor to use a potent corticosteroid cream, such as this one.
Dosage and Administration
M-Mometasone cream (Mometasone Furoate) should not be used to cover a large part of the skin. After thoroughly examining your skin condition and assessing the seriousness of your condition, your doctor will be able to tell you how much of the topical cream to apply. The cream should be gently applied to the area in need of treatment, however, a bandage should not be used unless you are following the instructions of your doctor, as this could increase the amount of the active ingredient absorbed through the skin, which could result in side effects.
