Uses
Oxcarb (Oxcarbazepine) is an anticonvulsant drug which is used either on its own or together with other medications to treat seizures and other related disorders in patients affected by epilepsy. This medicine works by reducing the nerve impulses in the brain which are responsible for causing seizures to occur.
Dosage and Administration
Oxcarb (Oxcarbazepine) tablets are taken by mouth, with a full glass of water. Patients may take the medicine with food or without food. You will need to see your doctor before you start treatment, to determine the correct and proper dosage. Most adults treating epilepsy will be directed by their doctor to take it twice per day. It is recommended that patients take each dose at evenly spaced intervals. This ensures that the level of medicine in the blood remains at a constant and equal level.
