Uses
Rizact (Rizatriptan) is a selective serotonin receptor agonist used by those suffering from severe headaches or, more commonly, migraines. It works by blocking certain messages sent within the brain and preventing certain chemicals from being released.
Dosage and Administration
Rizact MD (Rizatriptan) comes as tablets. Some patients may be told by their doctor to administer the first dose in the presence of a doctor, so that the effects of the medicine can be monitored. If your doctor prescribes this medicine to you, you must strictly adhere to the dosage instructions given to you.
This drug is usually taken when the first signs of a migraine headache occur. Generally, a single dose is considered to be sufficient. However, if the migraine headache reoccurs, there is a possibility that your doctor will direct you to take a second dose (at least two hours after the first dose). Patients are normally directed not to take in excess of two doses in any period of 24 hours.
