Uses
Rizact MD (Rizatriptan) is an oral medication prescribed to treat patients suffering from migraines. It operates by narrowing blood vessels around the brain to prevent symptoms associated with this condition such as severe pain, sensitivity to light, or nausea. Your doctor may also prescribe its use for the treatment of other unlisted conditions.
Dosage and Administration
Rizact MD (Rizatriptan) comes as tablets. Some patients may be told by their doctor to administer the first dose in the presence of a doctor, so that the effects of the medicine can be monitored. If your doctor prescribes this medicine to you, you must strictly adhere to the dosage instructions given to you.
This drug is usually taken when the first signs of a migraine headache occur. Generally, a single dose is considered to be sufficient. However, if the migraine headache reoccurs, there is a possibility that your doctor will direct you to take a second dose (at least two hours after the first dose). Patients are normally directed not to take in excess of two doses in any period of 24 hours.
