Uses
Zarator (Atorvastatin Calcium) is prescribed to patients with high cholesterol levels, to help treat high cholesterol. In addition to this, patients affected by CHD (coronary heart disease) or those considered to be at risk of this condition (such as diabetic patients) may be given this medicine to lower the risk of a stroke or heart attack. Patients affected by high levels of bad cholesterol are at risk of plaque forming in the blood vessels, which could obstruct blood flow and cause serious health problems. This medicine reduces bad cholesterol and other fats made by the liver, while at the same time increasing good cholesterol.

Dosage and Administration
Zarator (Atorvastatin Calcium) comes in the form of tablets that are taken by mouth. A full medical consultation is required for all patients before starting treatment. In all cases, the prescribing doctor will decide the correct dosage. Generally speaking, the dosages prescribed range from 10mg to 80mg per day. It is very important that all dosage instructions provided by the prescribing doctor are strictly followed.

Side effects
Patients who take Zarator (Atorvastatin Calcium) may experience side effects, such as:

• Headache
• Nosebleeds
• Sore joints
• Forgetfulness
• Nasal congestion

You will need medical care straight away if any serious side effects occur. Examples of this include sore muscles, low energy levels, discoloured urine, a reduced appetite, severe fatigue and other possible serious reactions which have not been listed here.

Precautions
If your doctor provides you with special dietary instructions, it is very important that you follow the diet prescribed to you.

If you have liver disease, your doctor will require medical tests to determine how well your liver is functioning. Patients with liver disease or who have ever had liver disease may be told not to take this drug.

Seek immediate emergency medical attention if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms to watch for, which may be indicative of a reaction, include skin rashes, hives, swelling of the face or limbs, trouble breathing, and trouble swallowing.

Always use Zarator (Atorvastatin Calcium) as you have been prescribed by your doctor. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor. The correct dosage can vary depending on your health, medical history, and the severity of the condition being treated.

This medication may not be safe for all patients. Before you begin using it always disclose the following to your doctor:
